Pregnancy Massage can provide excellent improvement in the aches and pains of pregnancy as well as the ability to relax muscles and remove tension.
There is also the benefit of reducing swelling associated with pregnancy, especially the oedema in the lower limbs and elsewhere. Improved mobility and comfort will assist in relaxation and this is very important for you and your baby through pregnancy.
Massage can be continued into the post-partum period to help with recovery from childbirth as well as improving your sense of well-being.
As with any massage, there are conditions that effect pregnancy that make massage contraindicated. Knowledge of these conditions is important to pass on to your therapist. Our therapists are trained in prenatal massage.
You will be asked to fill in an information sheet concerning your health and the pregnancy prior to commencing the massage. Consent will obtained from you after discussing this with you prior to massage.
The Pregnancy Massage Client History and Consent, as well as a brochure can be downloaded here:

It is our belief that correct treatment requires an accurate diagnosis. The commencement of treatment to an injury without knowing the diagnosis goes against our ideals.
To enable the best form of treatment available, we utilise the services of a wide variety of like-minded health professionals with a special interest in sports medicine.
It is vitally important that you are actively involved in the decision making about your own care.
We are very keen to avoid doing anything to people that would cause harm. Whilst some treatments will have inherent risks, there are other treatments where the risk is unacceptable and will not be offered.
